Giro Aeon Road Bike Helmet (Black/Charcoal, Medium)

Product Description

Maximum ventilation, minimal weight and zero compromises. The Aeon marks a new era in helmet design. Starting with a full roster of our best features, we optimized the design of every component in the helmet and even the shape of the helmet iteself to reduce weight by 28% overall. Of course, we also sculpted massive vents with interior channeling for best-in-class cooling power and integrated the adjustability and comfort of Roc Loc 5, too. When you want a lighter helmet, a cooler helmet, a better helmet- this is the one.

  • Set and forget Roc Loc TT Fit system creates a self-adjusting fit with secure feel and helps improve aerodynamics by allowing back of the helmet to be closed off to the wind
  • In-mold polycarbonate shell with EPS liner
  • Internal channeling ventilation with 24 wind tunnel vents and X-Static padding
  • Featherweight webbing with Slimline buckle
  • Thermoformed SL Roll Cage reinforcement

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, June 27, 2011

I already had a nice Giro Atmos helmet, but when I saw this in the bike shop, I had to have it! It was remarkably light, noticeably lighter than even the other high-end helmets. It looks great, and it fits me even better than the Atmos. The Atmos would press into the very front center of my head just enough to be annoying on long rides. The Aeon, in the same size, fits perfectly all the way around. Reviews of the ultra-light Prolight panned the ventilation, but the Aeon, at a just few grams heavier, is breezy. The Roc Loc works great, even better than the previous Roc Loc iterations. The straps are a lighter, more flexible material, so they almost disappear compared to the thicker, stiffer straps of the Atmos. The price is steep, but I find it to be worth it, even when upgrading from an already nice helmet. It looks good on my head too, and not like a watermelon like so many others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Helmet I have Experienced, August 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Giro Aeon Road Bike Helmet (Sports)
This helmet fits great and flows tons of air. I ride in South Carolina where summer temps are routinely in the mid to high 90's with 60% to 70% relative humidity. I can honestly say that after riding two hours plus I have forgotten the helmet was on! On top of the comfor factor, you can actually adjust the headband easily while riding. This level of comfort is well worth the price.

This is a great helment...light and lets the air flow thur a lot better than my older heavier Bell helmet. I would recomend it to anyone who wants tos spend the cash. For me it was worth it on these hot August days.
